Highlights
A trip to the East Coast
We headed to New York to watch the Dodgers take on the Yankees, but the trip turned into so much more than just a game.
We spent our days exploring the city from Little Italy and Chinatown to Rockefeller Center, taking in the food, the energy and everything New York has to offer.
Game day at Yankee Stadium was a highlight of its own: jerseys, stadium history and a crowd that made the whole thing feel electric.
A surprise storm even pushed us across state lines into New Jersey, where we found some incredible food and an unexpected gem in the Newark Museum of Art.
We even happened to catch some of the World Cup final energy while we were out there. It was a trip full of good food, good baseball and all sorts of East Coast vibes.
Exploring the city
We spent our first full day just walking the city, starting in Little Italy and Chinatown before making our way up to Rockefeller Center and Radio City Music Hall. There was no rush to check things off a list… just time to take it all in, grab a bite here and there and soak up the energy of the city.
Gametime!
We then made our way to Yankee Stadium, and the energy was electric. Before the game, we checked out the museum right there at the stadium, full of legendary memorabilia and World Series trophies, a great way to feel the history of the ballpark. The place was packed with Dodgers fans… but for the day my brother decided to cheer on the Yankees. Being able to be there with him while he enjoyed something he loves so much was really special.
Saturday brought a heavy storm, so we pivoted and spent the day checking out New Jersey. We ended up in Elizabeth finding some incredible Ecuadorian restaurants (a taste of our own culture) a long way from home.

We also stopped by the Newark Museum of Art, which turned out to be a great surprise. Galo especially loved the tribute to Black History and the Native American jewelry galleries.
