Palm Springs Oasis
Dates: TBD
A warm-weather escape with big views, easy pool days and a laid-back desert vibe.
Mountain air, retro charm, and a good mix of lively spots and quiet ones.
We'll ride the world's largest rotating tramcar up the cliffs of Chino Canyon, and the views the whole way up are incredible.
It's fully wheelchair accessible, and once we're at the top, it's about 30 degrees cooler than the desert floor, a nice break from the heat. There's a natural history museum, restaurants and observation decks, so we can take our time.
And if heights aren't someone's thing, we'll have something else planned for that time.
✦ The Aerial Tramway
We'll build in real downtime by the pool, because sometimes the best part of the trip is just floating around and relaxing.
No agenda, no rush, just sun and water at our own pace.
✦ Pool Days
For a quieter afternoon, we can spend some time at the art museum downtown.
It's a nice change of pace from the desert heat and the busier spots, and there's always something interesting to look at.
✦ Palm Springs Art Museum
✦ Downtown & Retro CharmPalm Springs has this cool mid-century modern feel all over downtown, so we'll walk around, check out some shops and grab a bite somewhere fun.
We like Farm for dinner, a relaxed garden patio with farm-to-table food, and Café La Jefa for coffee, a quiet spot with mountain views to start the morning. Easy, walkable and a good way to soak in the local vibe.
